ROADWORTHY INSPECTIONS AND CERTIFICATES
At Ace with have a Licenced Vehicle Tester on site and a Certificate of Roadworthiness can only be issued by a Licensed Victorian Tester. A Victorian Roadworthy Certificate is only valid in Victoria and is only valid for 28 days after the certificate has been issued. Roadworthy certificates issued in other States are not valid in Victoria.
WHEN IS A ROADWORTHY CERTIFICATE REQUIRED?
A Certificate of Roadworthiness is required when:
* The purchaser of a vehicle wants to transfer the vehicle into their name or a company name in Victoria.
* Re-registering a previously registered vehicle,
* Transferring an interstate registered vehicle over to Victorian registration. * Registering an imported vehicle,
* Registering or transferring a vehicle onto club plates.
For a Certificate of Roadworthiness to be issued, a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle has to be conducted. Any items that fail will be noted on the report and will need to be rectified and re-inspected before a Roadworthy Certificate can be issued. Photo`s are taken of the vehicle during different stages of the inspection.
ITEMS COVERED UNDER THE INSPECTION
The vehicle is placed on a hoist and the following items are inspected.
• Tyres and Wheels
• Brakes and Brake Components
• Suspension Front and Rear
• Steering
• Engine and Driveline
• Towbars and Bull Bars
• General condition and structure of the Body and Chassis
• Windscreen, Wipers and Washers.
• Electrical, Indicators, Lights, Horn & Accessories
• Emissions
• Seat belts
• Seats Condition
Please Note that a Roadworthy Certificate does not represent the overall condition of the vehicle. Items such as Air Conditioning, Audio Systems, Rear Window Demister or non-safety related mechanical components may not be inspected if not required as part of the Roadworthy Inspection.

We got a towbar installed from ACE and found the service friendly, helpful and the job was done well. We then decided to have our car serviced by ACE and will most likely continue using them for general car maintenance. Their prices seem reasonable, and their customer service is very good. Being conveniently located so near to Heatherdale station was a bonus for hubby dropping off the car in the morning before work.
